Key fob formats for different programmes
Depending on the project specification, the format may be a durable moulded key fob, a printed mini-card style token or a branded epoxy tag. The choice affects print area, durability, carrying method and the chip options that can be built into the credential.
- Access and identification: compact credentials for staff, members, residents or authorised visitors.
- EV charging: portable RFID tokens for drivers, fleets and charging-network users.
- Membership and loyalty: branded contactless tokens designed to stay on a customer’s keyring.

Printing, numbering and data options
Key fobs can be supplied with your logo, brand colours and clear user-facing identification. Project-dependent personalisation can include printed serial numbers, QR codes or other variable information. If your team needs a UID or mapping file for enrolment, include the required format in the brief so it can be checked against the selected chip and production workflow.
Credentials can be discussed as blank, pre-encoded or linked to a supplied data list. Encoding and security requirements must be confirmed against the target system; a visual match alone does not prove technical compatibility.
Information needed for an accurate quotation
You do not need a perfect technical specification to start. The most useful details are:
- the reader, platform or existing credential type;
- the chip or frequency, if already known;
- required quantity and whether repeat orders are expected;
- artwork, logo and available print area;
- numbering, QR, UID mapping or encoding requirements;
- the intended environment and how the token will be carried.
Check compatibility before the main run
For contactless projects, a sample or small validation batch is often the safest way to confirm reader compatibility, data format, print result and day-to-day handling before a larger order. We can review the proposed specification with your team or system provider and identify what must be tested.
